Term 1 Week 10: Kei te pehea koe?

 Ngā Mihi koutou katoa!

Another short week for Akomanga 16 but as always we do our best to learn as much as possible in the time we have. This week has been a challenge for us all to get back in class routines as we have had such a long Easter Break.

The Tamariki have been attending swimming lessons each day, which they really enjoyed!

During Pūtaiao this week we learnt how to make a simple and short circuit with a battery, wires and play dough and light.

We also looked at how solar energy can power a small car. During writing the year 0-3 students used the small solar cars to encourage them to write. The year 4-6 students have been watching "How Maui meet his mother" to learn how to plan and write a narrative.  I hope to share some of there writing in next weeks blog.

In Pakirehua we have been looking at the word Resilience and how our Atua Māori show this attribute. Today the students created a quick presentation on What resilience means to me? Here is two!

Term 1 Week 9: Te Aranga

Kia Ora!

Week 9 was a short week due goal setting meetings and Easter Weekend but we did our best to use our time to the best of our ability. Students started swimming lessons this week, discussed why we celebrate Easter, which students all had different reasons for this.  We designed our own Easter egg and practices our weaving skills.

Week 9: Fun Te mutunga o te tau 2021

Kia Ora Koutou! Myself and the tauira have had so much fun this week celebrating the achievements of our year. We have eaten pizza, lollie...
